Our History
The Owners
We moved to Birchley House Farm in October 2011. Whilst living in the Coach House, we obtained planning permission to convert the attached, dilapidated Oast and farm buildings. After all our hard work, we wanted to share the fruits of our labour and The Coach House, once our home, could be yours for as long as you wish. After enjoying a first successful year and meeting so many wonderful people we applied for planning permission to convert the redundant Old Dairy into a one bedroom holiday let cottage. Now open, Martin and Caryn look forward to welcoming you to our rural retreat.
The Location
Located in a most idyllic position with the most spectacular views we enthuse in our homes history and have kept many of the original features. The buildings were once the Coachhouse and farm buildings, serving a fine Grade II listed property still glorious to this day. Feel free to meander our 20 acres enjoying views little changed over the centuries. There is a peace to this place we just can’t explain, so we don’t, we just enjoy it.
Why this location
Birchley House Farm is situated within the Weald of Kent, just outside the quaint village of Biddenden. Set down a country lane, up a long track, it is set far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, enjoy the peaceful location and the far reaching views, over farmland across to Hemsted Forest. It is surrounded by medieval villages such as Cranbrook, Tenterden, Sissinghurst, Rye to name but a few, and National Trust Properties such as Sissinghurst Castle, Scotney Castle, Smallhythe Place. Bedgebury Pinetum and Hempsted Forest. Go back in time on steam train ride from Tenterden Walk from your door, across fields to Biddenden Vineyards. Enjoy the many fine pubs and restaurants, Michelin Star and Best Dining Pub amoungst them.

Visitor review for The Old Dairy
A lovely week. Arrived in the rain and left in the rain but we had a glorious week of blue sky and sunshine. A very comfortable home with lots of thoughtful touches. The welcome pack was amazing. We visited lots of National Trust properties. Thank you.

Have had a very comfortable stay in your delightful little cottage. Although visiting for work I have enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the farm and its views. Well equipped and beautifully clean it has been a pleasure to stay here. The welcome pack has been tasty and appreciated.
